This is where legend began. Captured in 1949 by renowned photographer Tom Kelley, the Red Velvet session immortalized a young Marilyn Monroe in a series of striking, sculptural poses that would shape the future of American pop culture. With nothing but red velvet drapery and studio light, Kelley photographed Monroe in a way that was bold, elegant, and undeniably iconic. While one image from the session would famously appear in the debut issue of Playboy magazine, the complete twelve-image series remains one of the most sought-after and defining works of glamour photography.

Now available to collectors for the first time as museum-quality 16″x20″ archival prints, each image has been meticulously restored from the original transparency and printed on Hahnemühle FineArt Baryta Satin paper.
